Persons Who Have Not Signed CMTPL Contract Will Be Given Opportunity to Reduce Amount of Fine, if They Eliminate Offense Within 24 hours

The NA Standing Committee on Defense and Security debated in the first reading the draft law on Making Amendment and Addendum to the RA Code on Administrative Offenses authored by the deputies of the NA Civil Contract Faction Armen Khachatryan, Kristine Poghosyan and Lilit Kirakosyan. According to the relevant article of which, a person who has not signed a CMTPL (Compulsory Motor Third Party Liability Insurance) contract is given an opportunity to be released from the obligation to pay 75% of the imposed fine in case of eliminating the features of the offense within 24 hours from the moment of the detection of an offense.

The key rapporteur Armen Khachatryan informed that proposals were not presented after the first reading.

It was also noted that the proposed amendments will have a positive impact on the citizens who are the owners of the means of transport from the viewpoint of easing their social burden.

The co-rapporteurs, the NA deputy Vilen Gabrielyan and the RA Deputy Head of Police Ara Fidanyan positively expressed about the proposed amendments. The policy pursued by the Government has been highlighted, which makes it possible to mitigate the fines imposed for some offenses.

As a result of voting, the NA deputies endorsed the draft law.
